I have written before about How to Embed Flash Valid XHTML so this time I expand on the idea to include adding a YouTube video to your site.

First of all, the embed code from YouTube typically is not XHTML nor does it provide a nice degrade for devices like the iPhone.

The following steps will show you how to create XHTML markup and provide clean fallback content. Adding fallback content is a little detail that goes a long way to make your site more professional and accessible.

You create an newsletter just like you would any other page in your site. First Click on "Create content - Newsletter issue"

Next, select the newsletter this issue belongs too in the drop-down menu. Note that it's possible to manage several different newsletters which is why there is a selection box.

UPDATE MAR 2010 - Since writing this things have changed regarding keywords and how they get used by search engines. Due to the amount of abuse, keywords really have no relevance to the search engines anymore. So at this point my recommendation is use keywords for your own site's categorization of content. You should not expect to improve search ranking or seo at all by using keywords in the meta tags.

A keyword or phrase is nothing more than a category term that succinctly describes your content using single words or a two word phrase. Keywords help make searching for content more effective.

For example if you write an article about how to make a jalapeño pepper sauce then a good set of keywords are: "peppers", "hot sauce" and "jalapeño".

Amazingly keywords continue to be misused and abused. Not knowing how to use keywords can lead to poor search engine raking. Here are a few simple tips to consider.

What are Publishing Options?

When you create or edit a page there are a few options to consider which affect how and where the page is displayed.

A Teaser is usually posted/promoted, on the front page of your web site such that the first 600 words are displayed with a link to the full article.

You can change the number of words for the teaser under Administer > Settings > Posts. Although, once you do this, you must open and resubmit old articles to set the new teaser length.

Normally the sidebars are used for secondary menus, lists, polls, forms, etc.  Each of these is called a "block" and these blocks are managed a bit differently from typical pages.

When a customer has many pages that have an accompaning sidebar block it becomes a little cumbersome to create a new block for each page.  Therefore a custom block is used that knows what content should go with a page.  This way a single block can do the work of many.  However only the site admin who knows PHP should configure the block.

After you login there is a navigation menu in the sidebar that has links to create content and manage various modules. The links listed depend on how you have your site set up.
